Pulev is one pound lighter than his opponent, with the two needing to be separated after exchanging several terms.

Pulev was shouting at Joshua that when the champion arrived, he would “beat him” while the challenger’s brother, Tervel, was also trying to get on the floor.

“I don’t know what sparked it,” Joshua said. “It’s just the way we are.

He’s been boasting a lot about nonsense, and now he’s got to back it up.

I’ve seen so many fighters talk about a load of rubbish and then get swept up in it.

“If you don’t know boxing, then you might be intimidated by that sort of thing, but I might have whacked him up there, but I have to save it for tomorrow.”

“Pulev, who hopes to replicate Andy Ruiz Jr and win the world titles of Joshua’s IBF, WBA and WBO, said, “I told him I love him so much, but I’m a better boxer and I’ll show him tomorrow.

He didn’t like that, I suppose. But things change, no-one can remain the same. He’s a world champion now, for him the last day.
