It is claimed that a Beitbridge couple were forced to have sex all night after some thieves broke into their apartment.
Prosecutor Munyonga Kuvarega charged that on January 5, 2021, at around 1 am, the perpetrators broke into the home of businessman Edson Moyo, wielding machetes, axes and logs.
While some assaulted Moyo and his wife with an axe handle, others were searching the house for valuables and money, according to Journalist Reports. The court heard that they stole valuables worth R6 570, such as cell phones, a radio, diamond rings, necklaces, R570 cash, and food.
Before spraying them with an irritant material, the perpetrators later forced Moyo and his wife to be intimate while they filmed a video.
One of the suspects who appeared at the Beitbridge Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday, Luzondano Mudenda (31) of low-density Moniff in Beitbridge, was charged with burglary and possession of dangerous drugs.
When he appeared before Magistrate Toindepi Zhou, who remanded him in custody until February 16, he denied the charges.
The court learned that Moyo saw Mudenda at 3 pm on January 9 and watched him from a distance until he entered a certain building. The next day, Moyo sent the police a report leading to the arrest of Mudenda.
Along with the machete they used to harass the victims, property worth only R20 was recovered from him.
