In the United States, days after the Capitol riot, which earned criticism from various corners, there was apparently a rise in gun sales.
TMZ reached out to weapons stores in 20 U.S. cities this week and half of them registered a large rise in firearms and ammunition sales after pro-Trump insurrectionists stormed the Capitol Building on January 6.
It was further gathered that the clientele was a fairly equal mix of Republicans and Democrats with various companies reporting insightful details from various tidbits.
The publication was notified by Paulie’s Pistols near New Orleans that its sales are up 400 percent this week compared to last week.
Although there is still a steady stream of Republican buyers, the store says they have sold a surprising amount this week to Democrats who first bought a weapon.
After a surge of both Republicans and Democrats coming in and stocking up, the Hyatt Gun Shop in Charlotte said it sold entirely out of ammunition and rifles this week and has very little inventory left.
Hyatt also disclosed that while Democratic clients shared concern about the aftermath of the protests at the Capitol, the Republicans said they were concerned that Joe Biden would try to take away their weapons.
Shops such as Ray’s Hardware & Sporting Goods in Dallas and Ammunition AZ in Phoenix said their clients told them that after the riots, regardless of their political affiliation, they were buying weapons to “prepare for whatever is next”
