The new Chromebook CX9 by Asus is a Chromebook powerhouse designed for professionals. Pricing is still to be revealed, but in Q2 2021 it will come to North America.

Per Asus, up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor is powered by the Chromebook CX9. Students and more casual Chromebook clients typically do not need more than a Core i3, but it is the best choice for power users.

This is an uncommon processor to see in a Chromebook.

It also packs the power into a very compact chassis, which is just 16 mm (0.63 inches) and 2.2 pounds thick. And Asus claims it follows the US military requirements of MIL-STD-810H for toughness, so you should have no trouble battering it around.

Furthermore, the latest Chromebook supports Wi-Fi 6 and features dual speakers certified by Harman Kardon.

Asus states that it is “loaded with I/O” ports, including both the current standard Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI outputs. And it offers Titan C security, a security chip specifically designed for Chromebooks by Google.

The Chromebook Flip CX5 and C536, two consumer-oriented Chromebooks that will also feature 11th Gen Intel processors, have also been launched by Asus. Those models will come in Q1.
