The number of people killed in the FedEx warehouse shooting has been put at eight.

According to authorities, eight people have been killed, including the gunman, and 60 people have been injured, with 20 of them suffering from gunshot wounds.

On Thursday night, April 15, the gunman opened fire at a FedEx facility before turning his weapon on himself.

At about 11 p.m. local time, police were dispatched to rumors of an active shooter at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis airport.

Local media at the scene broadcast live footage of crime scene tape in the parking lot outside the hospital, which employs over 4,500 employees.

Family members of FedEx workers have been pending in a local hotel for info about their loved ones.

An unnamed witness who was operating at the facility told NBC he ducked for cover after having heard several shots, before running outside the building and seeing a person lying on the ground.

During the attack, several employees were said to have hidden under a conveyor belt.

Another man told WTTV that his niece was in the driver’s seat of her car when bullets erupted, and that she was injured.

“She got shot on her left arm,” Parminder Singh added. “She’s fine; she’s in the hospital now.”
