In Babban Rami, Mashegu Local Government District, Niger State, seven farmers were killed and many others wounded by armed bandits.
It was reported that when some armed bandits carrying sophisticated weapons attacked and opened fire on them indiscriminately, killing about seven and injuring several others, the farmers transported their farm produce home.
The incident occurred on Thursday, December 31, in the early hours. Survivors were rushed to a local hospital where medical treatment is still being offered.
On Saturday, January 2, the widow of one of the victims known as Ibrahim Danbanga, who spoke to Tribune Online, said the killing of her husband left her with about eight of her children to take over.
