Bandits demands N100m for six Police ASPs Kidnapped in Katsina

Bandits who for more than a week have abducted six Assistant Police Superintendents in Katsina State are demanding N100 m ransom for their release.

Among the nine who were just promoted to their present rank were the abducted ASPs. Mobile Police Squadron 6, Maiduguri, Borno State, was attached to them.

Findings on Wednesday 18 November indicated that the ASPs had been demobilized from the riot unit and that eight of them were on their way to transfer to the Zamfara State Police Command when they were ambushed and taken into the forest in the Dogondaji area of Katsina State, Punch reports.

Two of them escaped while being led away and one of them was shot in the leg but survived. He found himself in a village and he was taken by the villagers to a police station and taken to a hospital.

The other six officers are still with the bandits asking for an N100m ransom.

After the N100m ransom requested by the bandits, the families of the missing police officers were anxious about the safety of their breadwinners, Punch reports, adding that the families were trying to raise N3m or N500,000 each for the release of the captives.
