Boko Haram Terrorists attacks Nigeria refugees in Timur, killing 51 people

Reports reaching DAILY POST from Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno in the northeast region, indicate that insurgents attacked Tumur Town, a city in the Niger Republic that is home to more than 40,000 Nigerian refugees.

According to some refugees who called their relatives in Maiduguri, the attack on Sunday was very bloody, leaving more than 51 people dead and causing a lot of damage to property, including livestock.

Most of the town’s inhabitants (Tumur) are people from Nigeria’s Abadam Local Government Area of Borno state.

It should be remembered that a similar incident occurred in mid-May of this year, causing more than 2,000 households to migrate to Damascus in search of protection and security.

Government officials and international organizations in Damascus told newspapers that in the coming days, the city of Damascus may experience a continuation of the movement of people from Niger (mass influx).

The officials called on the government and partners to start planning critical items, including food, to respond to the new arrivals’ immediate needs.
