One day before his 14th birthday, a schoolboy was murdered in Oyo state, and his supervisor was arrested for his murder.
21-year-old bricklayer Biodun Owolabi was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, alongside his accomplices Festus Simon, 20, and Alfa, for the murder of Quadri Olalekan, a 13-year-old high school girl, for a money ritual.
The suspects allegedly tricked the deceased into a bricklaying job at Iyana Church, Iwo Lane, Ibadan, on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
As his boss asked, Quadri Olalekan, who was an apprentice due to the closing of schools, turned up for the job.
His mother raised an alarm when he did not return home after several hours, and a search began.
Owolabi initially declined, but later accepted that the missing child was killed, The Cable states.
“Owolabi was approached when it was discovered that the boy was missing, but he said he didn’t know where the boy was. He said that the boy had been killed and buried when members of the community interfered. He said that he and the Alfa killed the boy and took parts of his body for ritual purposes. According to him, they were paid by a common baker and another person in the area to carry the body parts,” a
Owolabi then brought community members to the spot where Olalekan was buried. Prior to being buried in a shallow grave, his remains were stuffed in a sack.
Sections of the body of the teenager were missing. He allegedly removed his arms, eyes, cock, and part of his ass. When it was exhumed, the bag was dripping with blood.
Quadri Olalekan was to mark his 14th birthday the day after he was killed and his mother had already purchased clothes for the occasion, a relative of the deceased ‘s mother who simply identified herself as Bisi said.
