Last month, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War launched and introduced the shooter series to a new console generation, and the first major content update is about to arrive now.
Although on December 10th the “season one” batch of additions was expected to arrive, its creators revealed that they are moving things back to December 16th.
That allows them a few more days to sort out some problems with a game experience that covers several generations of formats, platforms, titles, and consoles, and if you think it matters, it won’t be out on the same day as Cyberpunk 2077.
As far as what players can expect to see, things remain the same as what was outlined a month earlier, with XP and level-up progression synchronizing through Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare of 2019, and the dedicated royal warzone combat mode.
Season One is coming.

That means that the Modern Warfare and Warzone ranks of players will be reset, but any prizes they have unlocked will still be available.
Throughout the various modes, new items such as weapons will be available, while Warzone introduces a brand new world, a new mode, and a revamped gulag experience where players will fight to return to the battlefield after they have been killed.
For these updates, there is no news yet on the scale of the downloads, but the season one patch comes in several parts, with an initial update to Black Ops Cold War on December 8th, followed by another one on the 15th, and finally a Warzone update on December 16th that will mark the beginning of season one.
