During Wednesday’s protests in the US Capitol, the man photographed seated at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk was criminally charged with three federal charges, including theft of public property, federal officials said Friday.

Federal officials have said that Richard Barnett of Arkansas was detained by police in Little Rock on Friday morning.

Barnett was accused of intentionally entering and staying without permission in restricted building areas, aggressive entry and disorderly activity on Capitol grounds, as well as theft of public property, officials said.

In connection with the pipe bomb discovered on the south side of the Capitol building, a resident of Alabama was also indicted. In his pickup truck, eleven Molotov cocktails and a military-style pistol were found, officials said.

“Even though you’ve left the DC region you can still expect a knock on the door if we find out you were part of a criminal incident at the Capitol,” said Steven D’Antuono, assistant director in command of the Washington Field Office of the FBI.

“The FBI is not sparing any resources in this inquiry,” he said.

Whether Barnett had an attorney was not immediately clear.

Barnett is in FBI custody, reported to CNN by Lt. Shannon Jenkins, the public information officer of the sheriff’s office in Benton County, Arkansas.

“He is in the custody of the FBI. He did not get checked into our facility. He was transported to another facility and in the custody of the FBI,” she said in an email.
