The bail granted to Abdulrasheed Maina, the former defunct Chairman of the Pension Revamped Task Team (PRTT), was revoked by a federal high court in Abuja on Wednesday 18 November.
Justice Okon Abang, who made the ruling following an application lodged by the prosecuting counsel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, also released a bench warrant to security agencies for the arrest of Maina wherever he is seen. They are to deliver him “without delay” in court after it is performed.
Abang also announced that in his absence, the defendant’s trial will continue before he is presented in court.
The Judge also agreed on 23 November to appear in court for Maina’s guarantee, Senator Ali Ndume, to prove why he should not be remanded in jail and forfeit his N500m bail bond pending when he will deliver the defendant.
