Cristiano Ronaldo could still consider Manchester United return

While at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo became a household name and, now 35, the new Juventus forward could make a stunning return to Old Trafford.

The Portuguese international, who has already scored six goals in six Serie A games so far this season, left the English club in 2009 when he joined Real Madrid for a then-world record fee.

“Our sources in Manchester and Porto confirm that Manchester United tempted Cristiano Ronaldo next season with a return to the club,” read the tweet of ESPN journalist Christian Martin.

“The Portuguese is evaluating it. If he asked for [the move], Juventus will negotiate.” Cristiano has a contract at Juventus until June 2022 and when they looked to the club he was seen as an important signing.

In 2014, while playing for Real Madrid, Cristiano revealed that he would like to return to Manchester United one day. ‘I love Manchester,’ he said.

“It’s known to everyone. “Manchester is in my heart. “The fans are fantastic, and one day I would like to return.” Between 2003 and 2009, Cristiano spent six years at Old Trafford, and at that time he lifted three Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Before joining Real Madrid for 96 million euros, he scored 118 goals in 292 games.
