Cristiano Ronaldo’s Reaction after losing the Best Men’s Player award to Lewandowski

After missing the Best Men’s Player award to Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo was less than thrilled.

The award was given to the Polish international through a live stream with players holding away via social distance, with the ceremony going forward in Zurich, Switzerland.

And it comes from Lewandowski after a remarkable season where he scored 55 times in 47 games.

His goals, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal Cup and the Champions League, guided Bayern Munich to the treble.

The 32-year-old finished as the highest goalscorer in all three competitions.

It is the first time the award has been received by Lewandowski, with Ronaldo or Messi normally taking the award home.

But as his striker rival was called out as the winner, the Juventus forward was not pleased.

Actually, he looked absolutely livid, watching his finger hover over the hang-up call button, perhaps, stonefaced.

Ronaldo’s reaction was quickly noted by fans, with one saying, “He’s a sore loser. At least Messi was smiling.”

In a year in which the Ballon d’Or was called off due to the coronavirus epidemic, Lewandowski, meanwhile, was over the moon to win the trophy.

“A long time ago, I recall I was longing for something like this and now I can win such an award. It really means, regardless of where you come form, all that matters is what you put into it.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed the award after leading the Reds to a first-ever Premier League title as the Best Men’s Coach.

“I am [shocked],” Klopp said.

I have to thank so many people, and most of all my coaches. If I had known we would have won it, my coaches would be here with me These boys are all about what we did last year.

We haven’t been dreaming for 30 years, but we have been dreaming for a few years. It was truly outstanding and we all had a special year in a sadly not so optimistic way, but in a tricky time, we could at least make some highlights for Liverpool fans. I didn’t know how it was going to feel and it felt completely overwhelming.
