Dani Ceballos has denied a claim that he was involved with Arsenal teammate David Luiz in a training ground bust-up.
On Thursday, The Athletic announced that at the end of a training ground match last week, Luiz “took exception to a challenge by the Spanish international that caused him to lash out.
Luiz is said to have hit Ceballos on the nose, drawing blood from a scrape, until members of the Gunners’ coaching team split the couple.
To mark the news as “FAKE.” Ceballos took to Twitter.
Sources told ESPN that there was an altercation between Ceballos and Luiz, but the two were not sent home and the occurrence is seen as “not unusual” around the world for training grounds at the elite level.
It does, however, come three months after Ceballos was involved during the warm-up before the Gunners’ opening-day win at Fulham in a mild dispute with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
As the squad went through a practice drill at Craven Cottage, Ceballos made two forceful tackles on Nketiah, while the duo soon put the fracas behind them.
