Arsenal defender David Luiz hit his teammate Dani Ceballos during a brutal altercation during an international break at the club’s training ground.
Luiz was furious that Ceballos sent him a late tackle and almost wounded him, according to news originating from London.
Club boss Mikel Arteta put those players who last Friday did not join up with their national team into physical checks, but Luiz responded angrily when Arteta blew the final whistle, according to The Athletic.
According to the Athletic, at the conclusion of the practice session, the angry Luiz punched his teammate in the chest, punching him enough to pull blood from his face.
The article also states that Luiz struck Ceballos on the nose and sent him tumbling to the turf, but they were then divided up by team-mates and coaching staff when the midfielder rose to his feet and went to challenge him.
The article adds that the pair were then sent home by Arteta and given three days off before returning on Tuesday, November 17 to their London Colney training complex.
The article also adds that Luiz and Ceballos have apologized and settled their beef with their colleagues.
