His agent stirred up controversy this week when he declared “it was over” for his client’s time at the club.
After a week in which his agent Mino Raiola made it clear that he wants to leave Old Trafford, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has hit back at his critics.
When he said that his client’s period with the club was over this week and spoke about a move before his contract expires in the summer of 2022, Raiola created plenty of controversies.
Pogba came off the bench and scored in midweek against RB Leipzig, but was unable to save United from crashing out of the Champions League. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responded to Raiola’s remarks after the game.
“The Norwegian said As soon as Paul’s agent realizes that this is a team sport and that we work together the better.
Pogba would then start against Man City in Saturday’s derby, which ended in a dramatic 0-0 draw.
Pogba broke his silence on his future after that game with a post on Instagram in which he told supporters of Man Utd that he was “1000 percent ” committed to the cause at Old Trafford.
Pogba said, “I’ve always fought and will always fight for Manchester United, my team-mates and the fans,” Bla bla is not important. The future is far away, what matters now is what matters, and I’m 1000% involved!
Together always powerful….. Between the club and myself, all were transparent and that will never change. Don’t chat because you don’t know what’s going on inside.
Over the past week, Pogba’s future has been the topic of much speculation, with his former club Juventus considered one of the favorites to land him should he leave United.
This week, Juventus director Fabio Paratici spoke highly of Pogba, saying “we love him very much in a statement that will do nothing to ease the talk about the move.
