According to Goal, In the BVB’s first team, the 16-year-old forward continued his record-setting start to life.

By making his first Bundesliga start, Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko set yet another milestone.

As his side faced Werder Bremen in Bundesliga play, Moukoko was handed his first start for Dortmund on Tuesday. Moukoko became the youngest player ever to start a Bundesliga match at 16 years and 25 days of age.

Moukoko broke the record set by another Dortmund player, Nuri Sahin, who, at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 1 day, started against Wolfsburg in August 2005.

Recently, the teenage striker has set many records, being the youngest player ever to play on his Dortmund debut in the Bundesliga and then breaking the record last week as the youngest player in the Champions League.

The minimum age of the Bundesliga was recently set at 16-a rule that was adjusted from 16 and six months partly in anticipation of the advent of the prodigy as a potential first-teamer, ensuring the Bundesliga records of Moukoko are likely to remain for some time.

Moukoko will now look to score his first senior goal for Dortmund after dominating the club’s youth teams, entering Tuesday’s match against Bremen with five total appearances.

As they entered the Bremen match on the back of a run of just one win in five matches, Dortmund will be hoping for a spark from their teenage star.

A crushing 5-1 home defeat to Stuttgart on Saturday, the team’s latest setback, saw head coach Lucien Favre sacked after two and a half years in charge.

For the remainder of the season, assistant coach Edin Terzic was placed in charge of Dortmund on an interim basis, and he vowed his team would show attacking football while he was at the helm.
