After his fortune dropped by almost $14 billion in one day, Elon Musk’s status as the world’s wealthiest individual was short-lived.
The Tesla billionaire is now the world’s second-richest person.
On Monday, January 11, shares of his electric-vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, dropped by almost 8 percent. This brought Musk’s fortune down to US$176.2 billion.
Musk has again fallen to second place, according to Forbes’ figures, after briefly overtaking Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos as the world’s richest individual last Friday, Jan 8.
Bezos, who has a net worth of $182.1 billion, is only $6 billion behind him.
