Femi Falana, a human rights activist, was dragged by an organisation, Make Nigeria Better Initiative (MNBI), to the International Criminal Court ( ICC).
Falana was accused of allegedly instigating the # EndSARS crisis that led to the deaths of many Nigerians in the petition filed on 4 November 2020 by Joseph Nwaegbu, Esq., Senior Associate of Pathfind Attorneys on behalf of Make Nigeria Better Initiative (MNBI) and addressed to the Prosecutor’s Office of Madame Fatou Bensouda, International Criminal Court (ICC).
Furthermore, the group that also accused Falana of maintaining an antagonistic stance against the security forces of Nigeria, particularly the military, since the country returned to democracy, stated that the role he played in the protest was not only ignorant but also criminal.
However, the petition comes after the human rights activist declared that he and other lawyers are collecting evidence to ensure that Army Chief of Staff Tukur Buratai is tried before the ICC.
