According to Goal, Barcelona forward Jorge, the father, and agent of Lionel Messi, categorically denied meeting with officials from Paris Saint-Germain.

Since attempting to secure a move away from Camp Nou in the close season, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future has been a hot subject of debate.

Barca blocked Messi’s exit, but at the end of the campaign, he is set to become a free agent and has been closely linked to Manchester City, Inter, and PSG.

Spanish outlet El Chiringuito reported on Monday that after holding talks with Jorge at the Qatari consulate in Barcelona last week, PSG is the frontrunner to sign the 33-year-old.

Since then, however, Goal has heard that Messi has not had any talks with any other clubs yet although Jorge hit out in November on similar suggestions and quickly dismissed the latest claims in an Instagram post.

“False. Yet another invention,” he posted over a screenshot of the rumor of the move. “I’ve been in Argentina since September. #Fakenews.”

With a 1-0 victory over Levante in La Liga on Sunday, Argentina’s international Messi scored as Barcelona returned to winning ways.

That brought Messi in the Spanish top flight to 449 goals and he is one short of becoming the first player to cross 450 in the top five European leagues with just one team.
