‘Fortnite’ promo offers two months of Disney plus if you spend real money

The reports were true: Epic Games is sweetening the pot for players willing to purchase cosmetic goods from Fortnite.

As The Verge notes, if you spend real money on Fortnite, including transactions for (but not using) V-Bucks, Epic is launching a deal that gives you two months of free Disney+ service.

The deal includes any outlays that you have made until the end of 2020 between November 6th at 10 AM Eastern, but you will have to wait until November 10th at 7PM to claim your subscription. Codes expire on 31st January 2021.

The promo is not usable anywhere. It is limited to 21 countries (France is a glaring exception), including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and large parts of Europe.

In Germany, you will also get only one month, and current Disney+ users will not connect this to an existing membership. And note, if you do not cancel before the free period is over, you will have to pay.

The technique does not have much intrigue. Disney is shifting its attention to streaming, and one of the most successful games (especially one with multiple Marvel tie-ins) could increase its numbers by hitting a promo.

The Mandalorian’s second season helps, as well. For Epic, meanwhile, as its legal dispute with Apple threatens to reduce its audience, this is a way to keep Fortnite players engaged.
