In the north of Kentucky, a small American town has named a dog as its mayor.
With approximately 13,143 votes, Wilbur Beast, a French bulldog, won a landslide victory in Rabbit Hash’s mayoral election in the city, the highest winning total recorded in the city’s history.
Wilbur unseated incumbent Brynneth Paltrow, after winning the canine choice, a rescued pit bull mix.
There were 22,985 votes cast, the highest ever for the city, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
Every three years, the city’s historical society holds a dog election.
