Government of Lagos directs public and private schools to leave by Friday


In Lagos state, public and private schools were ordered to leave by Friday, December 18.

In a statement entitled ‘LASG orders schools to vacate on Friday, December 18, 2020,’ the Director-General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, gave the order.

the statement read;

On Friday 18 December 2020, the 2020/2021 first term academic session for public and private schools will conclude.

On Friday 18 December 2020, the government of the Lagos States ordered public and private schools in the state to vacate.

Therefore, for the Christmas and New Year holidays on that day, all public and private schools below tertiary level in the state are to close. In line with the harmonized academic calendar of Lagos State, schools will reopen on Monday 4 January 2021.

It is important to note that on Sunday 3 January 2021, boarders will resume while academic activities immediately begin.
