The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has declared that, ahead of the 2023 general election, the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will launch in the first quarter of 2021.
The Chairman of the Electoral Body, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who made the announcement during the INEC Senate Committee’s Budget Defence Session on Wednesday, 4 November, said that the amount of N1 billion was also allocated to the exercise.
Yakubu announced that during the session he was endorsing diaspora voting, and also called on the National Assembly to amend the Electoral Act to allow diaspora voting and early voting.
