James Bond Movie, No Time To Die delayed again until April 2021

It has been confirmed today (Friday, October 2) that the film, which will see Daniel Craig play the 007 British spy for the final time, will be delayed until April 2021.

The film is the 25th in the series and was supposed to come out earlier this year until the coronavirus struck the globe.

It was then moved to November 12, which got fans excited but now it had been delayed once again as bosses want it to be seen by a “worldwide theatrical audience”.

The news was confirmed on the film franchise’s official Twitter account alongside a picture of the film’s logo.

It posted: “MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, today announced the release of NO TIME TO DIE, the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be delayed until 2 April 2021 in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience.”

Just weeks ago a poster was released which still had November 12 as the release date.

It will also be Craig’s last time portraying the hunky secret spy as his contract is up and he wants to step down from the iconic role.

And now it has been rumoured that Tom Hardy is taking over from Craig.

the movie has been delayed again

After the news broke that the Wirral-born star was stepping down after five outings as Bond, the rumour mill went into overdrive with fans speculating as to who could take over as the famous character.

Hardy, 43, had long been a bookies’ favourite to replace Craig but now respected movie source Emre Kaya at the Vulcan Reporter claims Tom had been offered the role in June after a successful audition.

It’s reported that Tom was to be announced as the successor in November, to coincide with the release of No Time To Die, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this has been pushed back.

Now it’s believed the announcement will be made later in the year or early 2021.

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who worked with Tom on the 2017 box office smash Dunkirk and is a fan-favourite to work on the Bond film, has said the actor would be “amazing” in the role.

While James Norton had long been the bookies’ favourite, Coral’s David Stevens told Daily Star Online: “Tom Hardy has always been close to the head of the betting, and indeed was as short as 6-4 favourite last year, so if he has indeed landed the coveted role, the bookies will have been left shaken if not stirred.”

Other names suggested were Rocketman star Richard Madden, Cillian Murphy and Henry Cavill, who were all favourites for the position.
