On Saturday, November 28, 2020, US President-elect Joe Biden sustained an ankle injury while playing with his pet dog named Big, it has been revealed.

Biden twisted his ankle and will undergo further testing, according to the Office of the President-elect, who released the details on Sunday, November 29.

His office said Sunday that “out of an abundance of caution,” Biden will see a doctor.

When playing with one of his puppies, Biden broke his right foot, an injury found in a scan Sunday and that would possibly force him to wear a boot for several weeks, his doctor said.

On Sunday afternoon, November 29, Biden visited an orthopedist in Newark, Delaware, his office said.

“Initial x-rays showed no apparent fracture,” but a more thorough CT scan was requested by medical professionals, his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement. In the center of his right foot, the following scan revealed tiny fractures in two small bones, O’Connor added.

In 2018, Joe Biden and Jill Biden, his partner, saved Major, making it the first shelter dog to enter the White House.

The German Shepherd was their second dog out of two. In 2008, after Biden became Barack Obama’s vice president, Biden rescued his first puppy, nicknamed Champ. Champ is a German Shepherd as well. Reportedly, the Bidens plan to add a cat to their family.
