After he was asked about the similarities between Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, Jurgen Klopp disclosed his humiliation.
Summer signing Jota stormed onto the Anfield scene, bagging a hat-trick this week during the Champions League 5-0 thrashing of Atalanta.
Meanwhile, in all competitions, this season, the dropped Firmino has only scored once, and doubts have been asked about his goalscoring record as the main striker of the club.
However, in light of the sensational sort of Jota, Klopp snapped back when asked about Firmino ‘s qualities.
“I’m not wasting time telling you how fine Bobby is,” Klopp said.
Without winning, but also scoring as well in other sports, he was the difference-maker in so many games.
“If I had to list his attributes, I would be ashamed. I can’t reach those people who can’t see this. That’s the way it is.
I don’t have to say one thing about him, he’s with us. I don’t care if you aren’t with us.
Whether Firmino will be returned to the starting XI or Jota will retain his place after his European masterclass remains to be seen.
The Premier League title rivals will kick off at 4:30pm on Sunday.
