Kentucky basketball player and NBA prospect, Terrence Clarke is dead, following a car accident in LA


Terrence Clarke, a Kentucky basketball player and NBA prospect, died at the age of 19 after being killed in a car crash in Los Angeles.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred on Thursday afternoon, April 22, when Clarke’s car collided with another that was making a left-hand turn.

Clark was taken to a local hospital by the LA Fire Department, where he succumbed to his injuries.

His death comes just a month after he announced his intention to enter the NBA draft in 2021 after his freshman season at the University of Kentucky.

According to a Kentucky press release, Kentucky men’s basketball head coach John Calipari said, “I am completely gutted and sick tonight.” “A young person we all love has died too soon, with all of his dreams and aspirations ahead of him. Terrence Clarke was a beautiful man, someone who ruled the room with his personality, smile, and joy, and to learn we have lost him is just hard for all of us to comprehend right now. We are all in shock.”

“Terrence’s teammates and brothers adored him, and they are heartbroken. They are aware that we are available to assist them with whatever they want.

“I’m flying to Los Angeles to be with his mother and brother and to assist them in any way I can. This will be a difficult time for all those who know and love Terrence, and I would ask that everyone say a prayer for him and his family tonight. Rest in peace, he was a good guy.”

It was revealed a day before his tragic death that he had signed with the Klutch Sports Group agency.

“The devastating loss of Terrence Clarke has saddened and devastated us,” said Rich Paul, CEO and founder of Klutch Sports Group. “Our prayers go out to Terrence and his family, who ask for privacy during this difficult period. He was an amazing, hardworking young man who was eager for what lay ahead of him and ready to achieve his goals.”

Clarke is survived by his three siblings: Tatyana Gray, Gavin Clarke, and Madison Adrianne, as well as his parents, Osmine Clarke and Adrian Briggs.
