Liverpool star, Diogo Jota facing ‘two months out’ due to his knee injury

The Portuguese star was ruled out of the clash with Fulham this weekend due to a knee injury, with the club refusing to place a time scale on his return.

But Record, a newspaper in Jota’s native Portugal, says that after picking up the injury against FC Midtjylland, the attacker faces up to 2 months on the sidelines.

The publication indicates the issue of the youngster is serious and worse than the Anfield outfit first feared.

Jurgen Klopp, speaking this week, acknowledged he had a few issues ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash.

Two days ago, we had a game and obviously, we had some niggles after the game I’d say, but they may be more, we have to see The diagnoses are not finally finished,” began the update of Klopp’s injury.”

We have to see Kostas, we have to see Diogo – he got a knock as well. I guess that’s from the game.

Oxlade is, besides that, in normal training. He’s been doing parts of training for a week or so now, and he’s in complete training now, and we’ll see.

So the situation probably needs him to be involved as quickly as possible, but I wouldn’t know if it’s already the weekend. Nobody else, I’m afraid, is coming back.

Since his summer turn from Wolves, Jota has hit the ground running.

And the legend of Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish, was impressed by Jota’s instant club impact.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Dalglish said It will do him a world of good for Diogo to come in and score as freely as he has done and to make such an impact, not always having played the full game.”

The confidence that he will have in himself and the faith that his supporters will have in him.

“It’s important when someone comes in and settles straight away, for the player and the club, just look at the contribution he has made.”
