Man who denied the existence of Covid-19, dies from the virus after hosting illegal gatherings

After hosting two illegal events at his home, a well-known Norwegian coronavirus denier died from the virus.

Hans Kristian Gaarder died on April 6 in Gran, a municipality 40 miles north of Oslo, after testing positive for the virus.

The 60-year-old conspiracy theorist, who often appeared on television shows, believed that coronavirus was “comparable to a cold” and posted numerous posts on his Facebook page that were flagged as “false evidence” by the social networking site.

On March 26 and 27, just days before his death, he held two illegal gatherings at a barn on his farm.

At least 12 people tested positive after attending the events, according to the local newspaper Hadeland. Police are now attempting to determine the total number of people who attended.

Gaarder may have been sick for several weeks without warning anyone, according to local authorities.

On its website, the Gran Municipality announced the death of a man in his 60s.

‘A man in his 60s from Gran died after contracting the coronavirus. Before he died, the individual was not screened for coronavirus, but it was later discovered that he was infected with the virus.

‘The Gran municipality has learned that two activities were held on the man’s property on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27. We don’t know how many people attended or who participated, but we do suggest that everyone take a corona test as soon as possible.’

The death was described as “a sad message to receive” by the municipality’s chief physician, Are Lken, in a statement on the website, adding that “our thoughts now go to the relatives.”

‘We are reminded of how dangerous the virus can be, and how important it is that we continue to adhere to the strict measures for the time being.’

In order to reduce the spread of diseases, gatherings have been prohibited in the region since March 16.
