Manchester United to consider Julian Nagelsmann as Mauricio Pochettino alternative

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly been added by Manchester United to their list of managers that will come under consideration if they decide to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After back-to-back losses this week put him on the back foot, Solskjaer is battling for his job again.

On Saturday, the Norweigan is facing a vital match with Everton and will expect to stay in charge after the upcoming international break.

The break is a perfect moment for United to fire Solskjaer and bring in a new manager to start on October 21 with the home fixture against West Brom.

Sources understand that Mauricio Pochettino is the favorite to become the next manager of the United States and whether he will take the role has already been sounded out.

But according to ESPN, through his work in Leipzig, Nagelsmann, a rising star in German football, captured the United Board’s attention.

Last season, Nagelsmann, 33, led Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League and his philosophy and work with young players have inspired observers.

Former United midfielder Paul Ince, meanwhile, has called on the club to be vigilant with Solskjaer.

“He told talkSPORT 2:” David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, and now Solskjaer have passed through. They’re not going to get anywhere if they’re going to keep replacing executives.
