Popstar, Davido, known on social media to flaunt his riches and jewelry, claimed that material things are becoming pointless for him.
The Fem singer that was featured with DJ Cuppy on Apple Music Radio’s Africa Now said that what matters most to him is the air he breathes.
The multiple award-winning artist announced that he understood that material objects are inconsequential after the death of his friend, Zimbabwe socialite Ginimbi.
I feel like every day, material things are only becoming meaningless to me. I just lost a friend from Zimbabwe, a very close friend of mine. He was a wonderful, great, caring man, Ginimbi. What didn’t he have? He had everything. What made me understand at the end of the day was his passing, that all we have in this life is the air we breathe. You may be poor or prosperous, but whatever position you find yourself in, just be glad you’re alive,’ he said.
In addition, The Singer said his fame helps his daughter to receive special treatment in school.
When Imade, my daughter, goes to school, she tells everyone, ‘Davido is my daddy.’ In college, she also receives special treatment only because she’s my daughter.
Their mothers play my videos with my daughters, so they know that somebody is their dad. She still gets scared every time I’m in the car with me and people start chasing my car. “She always asks me why people are afraid of me but I tell her they love me,” said Davido.
