During a live video call on a radio program, a mayor was left red-faced upon being caught with no pants.
Belgian legislator Bart de Wever, also the leader of the New Flemish Alliance, suffered a malfunction in his wardrobe when he debuted on Belgian radio station Radio 2 on 2 January.
The clip shows host Kim Debrie talking about the end-of-year festivities and his positive plans for 2021 to Mr De Wever, who is sitting at home at the moment before she mentions his gaffe.
She asks, “You’re wearing a very nice shirt, and you’re probably wearing it for us.”
But under that shirt, is it likely that you’re in your underwear? ”
The mayor of Antwerp seems to recognize the confusion and says: “How can you know that?”
Damn, because I think I’m sitting in front of a mirror. I did not take that into consideration.
He flips the camera around and exposes the reflection behind his working desk from the full-body mirror, revealing his bare legs.
“The year begins with a particularly embarrassing moment,” he admits. “I will remember this for a long time.”
The leader of the Reform Movement’s French-speaking liberals, Georges-Louis Bouchez, poked fun at the mayor and went to the social media to give De Wever a pair of Belgian flag shorts.
