0 TOPSHOT SYRIA CONFLICT DISPLACED

A national missing person appeal was initiated when Nasra Abukar, then aged just 18, went missing from her home in south-east London.

It has now been confirmed that she traveled to Syria, where she married a man from Cardiff who had been recruited into ISIS.

The couple had two sons together.

Faris, the older of the two, was killed in a coalition airstrike, but Nasra’s younger sibling, Talha, is still living with her in the Kurdish-run al-Hol Jihadi Brides Detention Camp in northeastern Syria.

The man married to Nasra, Aseel Muthana, was also wounded in the attack that killed her son, and a second wife is claimed to have been taken in.

Nasra’s mother claims she no longer wants anything to do with her daughter, stressing that when she went missing she was an adult, and although she declared her missing at the time, it was not her fault” that her daughter was mixed with Isis.

Kaha Abukar told the Sunday Times: “I have no contact with her whatsoever.” I’m not familiar with her husband. She was 18 when Nasra left. She was a grown-up. This is not my fault.’

Before she went missing, she added that her daughter “was not especially religious” and showed a lack of interest in her return to the UK, saying: “It’s not in my hands if she can return.” That is for the administration. For her, I can do nothing.

After her disappearance, Nasra was very involved on social media for a while, saying that life within the ISIS caliphate was fine, but she is now understood to want to return to the UK.

Abukar posted the word “Paris” accompanied by a “crying with laughter” emoji after the Paris terror of November 2015, which reported a total of 130 victims.

Her case is comparable to another London teenager, Shamima Begum, who ran away to join ISIS and later reappeared in the same camp where Nasra now lives.

During the past decade, up to 850 British extremists are believed to have fought for jihadist groups in Syria.

The equivalent of £300 a month was paid by ISIS.

Nasra’s husband says that after ISIS was defeated in Bargouz in March 2019, he lost touch with her At that point, we were separated and she was taken to a camp.” I wrote to her and I think the letter was delivered, but I never got a reply.

“My hope is that her family might visit me if I get jailed in the UK.”

He told the Sunday Mirror that he saw crucifixions, beheadings, bodies hanging from posts and homosexuals being thrown off rooftops while inside ISIS.

He admitted he had “seen so much blood” that it became like mere entertainment to casual executions and limb-chopping punishments.
