Mob Kills Prophet Accused Of Stealing Male Genitals In Benue

A Prophet Uhembe Jacob, accused of having played a role in the disappearance of some male genitals in the Daudu community of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, was reportedly killed by the Irate mob.

The Daily Trust reports that the Divine Shadow Church of the prophet was set ablaze last week by the angry mob who fingered him as an accomplice in the missing saga of genitals that since September had shaken the community’s peace.

Faulting claims of missing genitals were made by the police in Benue State, adding that the victims taken to the hospital were certified medically fit by doctors.

But, some of the alleged victims insisted that they were not fit because they were also unable to work sexually.

Our correspondent, however, gathered on Monday that after his home, church and all other properties were burned to ashes, the prophet earlier claimed to have avoided mob action last week was finally murdered.

It was discovered that the cleric was attacked and killed by the mob along Lafia Road while fleeing to an unarmed village in Nasarawa State for his life.

Protest

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the killing of Prophet Jacob allegedly sparked protest by members of his Church as they demanded justice for the murdered cleric.

Contacted, DSP Benue Command Police Public Relations Officer Catherine Anene verified that the prophet was killed while trying to run away from Daudu in his vehicle.

Anene, who could not tell exactly when the man was killed, said that the DPO in Daudu was to pick up the prophet (protective cover), but he rushed into his vehicle and ran away.

The PPRO, who noted that the man was later killed, explained that alongside the prophet, the police were able to save the second person accused and bring him into its protective cover.
