On Sunday, the Egyptian star found the back of the net to reach a milestone that was exceeded only by Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski – Reports Goal.

The first-half strike by Mohamed Salah against Wolverhampton Wanderers saw the Liverpool attacker extend his goal count in the Premier League at Anfield to 52.

With just 24 minutes to go the Egyptian international gave the lead to Jurgen Klopp’s men after taking advantage of a mistake from captain Conor Coady.

As Coady miscontrolled the header into the direction of the Egyptian, who slotted past goalkeeper Rui Patricio, Jordan Henderson fired a straight pass forward from the back.

Overall, he is third behind Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich in the ranks of players scoring more at a single venue in the European Big Five Leagues.

Also since his return to England, the former Chelsea and FC Basel man has scored or assisted 111 times in the English elite division, averaging at least 20 times more than Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

Salah, who now possesses no goals from 10 outings in the 2020-21 English topflight season, has been a consistent Red player since joining AS Roma’s Anfield side in the summer of 2017.

Thanks to Sunday’s 4-0 victory, his team climbed to second in the log with 24 points, while they are on goal difference behind leaders Spurs.

His efforts helped secure the 2018 Champions League title for the Anfield outfit and end their 30-year wait for last season’s Premier League diadem.

Following his outstanding displays for Klopp’s side, the 28-year-old forward has received many individual accolades, including two Premier League Golden Boot awards and two African Footballer of the Year awards.

With Lewandowski, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and his teammate Sadio Mane all nominated for the honor, Salah is among the final shortlist for the 2020 FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award.

After Sunday’s tie against the men of Nuno Espírito Santo, when the 2018-19 European champions fly to the MCH Arena for Wednesday’s dead-rubber Champions League tie with Frank Onyeka’s FC Midtjylland, he would be expected to feature prominently.

Liverpool finished as Group D winners regardless of the result against Brian Priske’s Danish Superliga team, while Atalanta and Ajax would slug it out for a second place.
