On Friday, January 8, 36-year-old Johnson was arrested and faces charges of intentionally entering or staying in a limited building or grounds without legal authority and theft of state property.
He was released on $25,000 bond on Monday, January 11.
After the uprising, Trump is now the first president to be impeached twice in history.
In December 2019, House Democrats impeached Trump for misuse of authority and obstruction of Congress in his relations with Ukraine. After Trump leaves office next week, a new Senate trial is anticipated to begin.
