A fact-finding team was set up by the Nigerian Bar Association over the suspected killings in Oyigbo, which caused a controversy.
NBA President Olumide Akpata, who made the announcement, said that while the presidents of the Ukwa and Port Harcourt Professional Association of Lawyers expressed concern about the current situation, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers repeatedly declined to order the shooting but admitted in a phone conversation that there were clashes between suspected IPOB members and the military.
Akpata said the four-man committee will conduct an investigation into the events of the last few days, after which the NBA will make the results known before the next move is decided.
