Niger State Governor directs it’s workers to remain at home from Monday due to Covid-19


The state government of Niger has directed all employees in the state’s ministries, departments and agencies to stay at home from Monday 21 December 2020.

In a circular to the MDAs signed by the Head of Service, Salamatu Abubakar, the workers were asked to remain at home in order to remain safe from the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The circular was entitled, “Stay Free from the 2nd Coronavirus Pandemic Wave, stating that only officials were exempted from essential duties.”

It stated;

“Refer to the above subject matter, please.” I write to inform you that in view of the country’s 2nd wave of coronavirus pandemic, His Excellency Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, Executive Governor of the State of Niger, has authorized all workers in the State of Niger to remain at home with effect from Monday 21 December 2020 until further notice, with the exception of Core Services Officers.
