A strange banner alleging that Donald Trump’s ‘world knows’ won the US election was flown over Goodison Park ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Everton.
The aircraft flying the ‘World Knows Trump Won’ banner could be seen as the players warmed up prior to the kick-off on Saturday lunchtime.
The banner also had the famous ‘MAGA’ sign, which is frequently used on social media by Trump supporters.
It comes as the votes begin to be counted with Republican Trump likely to lose in the US Election.
In the coming days, Democrat Joe Biden is due to be confirmed as the next president, while mail-in ballots continue to be counted.
In order to win victory, Biden only needs to clinch the 20 electoral college votes on offer in Pennsylvania.
Reports say that he is about 28,000 ballots ahead of rival Trump in the state at present.
Biden hasn’t declared victory yet, only saying: “The numbers tell us a simple and persuasive story-this race will win.”
At Everton, Manchester United came from behind to lead 2-1 at half-time.
Many consider it a must-win clash under tremendous pressure between United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Norwegian.
“Before the confrontation, he said,” You have the best shirt possible over your head, so go out there and enjoy it. That’s how I felt when I was playing, that’s how I feel when I’m leading them out now.
I just want their strengths to be shared and what we want from them today is a confident team that works together.
“It was a tough Thursday morning, of course, because we didn’t get back until four o’clock. And we can see the boys getting ready for this one on Friday.
“It’s a quick turnaround, but later on, we can talk about that.”
