According to Goal, After nine years with the team, Lucas Piazon had his loan spell with Rio Ave ended prematurely ahead of a permanent move away from Chelsea.

It is known that three unidentified clubs are in discussions with Chelsea, who have made Piazon available for a permanent move with his contract expiring soon.

On his current contract, the 26-year-old has only six months remaining, but an option for an additional year means the Blues will cash in on the Brazilian forward.

For the Primeira Liga club, the deal is a blow after he became a regular at Estadio dos Arcos during his 18-month loan.

Piazon, however, has been searching for a move away from the loan scheme in his nine years at Chelsea, having made seven temporary transfers.

It had also become increasingly evident that after arriving as one of Brazil’s most promising talents in a £ 5 million ($ 7m) move from Sao Paulo in 2012, he will not build on his three appearances in Chelsea’s first team.

With fresh FIFA rules coming in to restrict clubs to only eight such deals for players over the age of 22, Chelsea are also keen to reduce their loan group ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, ahead of potential January loan deals, Baba Rahman and Danny Drinkwater are currently playing and training with Chelsea’s Under-23s.

Drinkwater has been heavily linked to the Kasimpasa Turkish Super Lig club. With the £ 35m ($ 47m) signing from Leicester, still trying to get his Blues career back on track.

With numerous foreign clubs in advanced negotiations over six-month loan deals, a move away from Rahman is more likely. This will possibly be a display of his health and talent ahead of the Stamford Bridge summer transfer.

Dujon Sterling and Charlie Brown are both able to borrow from Chelsea, but Charly Musonda is still demonstrating his fitness after only returning to school.
