‘Pogba can’t be happy at Man Utd’ – Didier Deschamps, France boss says

During the last international break, the 27-year-old was in good shape for his country, but has since struggled to make an impression on the Red Devils.

Didier Deschamps, the boss of France, says he doesn’t think Paul Pogba is pleased with his new situation at Manchester United.

In recent months, the 27-year-old has struggled for regular first-team minutes, with injury concerns and a lack of fitness among the contributory factors since testing positive for coronavirus.

In the Premier League defeats to Tottenham and Arsenal, Pogba played 90 minutes only twice for United this season, and his only goal so far was in the Carabao Cup against Brighton.

Nonetheless, during the last international break, he played well for France, but Deschamps admits he is not at his best at the moment.

“I don’t have to give him any advice,” Deschamps told a press conference. “He’s well aware of the party. It’s been a while since his club played with him.

He is in a situation at Manchester United where his playing time and his place do not satisfy him. He’s not in his greatest era.

The wounds came one after the other, and Covid also struck him pretty hard. Any rhythm he wants to find.

His game was fairly strong and consistent last month, despite a lack of pace. Since then, he’s been playing, but you can not say he’s happy.

Juventus director Fabio Paratici ‘s comments fuelled speculation that he could be about to leave Old Trafford to return to his former club.

Former United defender Phil Neville, however, has said that he does not believe that the side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a chance of winning the title without Pogba.

Neville told Premier League Productions, “I still think it’s completely disgraceful that Pogba can’t get into that squad.”

For United to win the league, for United to succeed, for United to play the football style that Ole wants them to play, then Pogba must play.

“You can play [Nemanja] Matic, Fred or [Scott] McTominay with one of them, and then you can play Pogba with Fernandes.”
