In a plane crash near Moscow today, a prominent Russian TV talk show host was killed.
When it started to catch fire while attempting to make an emergency landing, Alexander Koltovoy, 41, was piloting his Cessna aircraft.
According to news, his partner, who has not been identified, was also killed in the accident.
As it descended over a highway near Tomilino, in the Moscow Area, videos showed smoke pouring from the single-engine aircraft.
Eyewitnesses in a field covered in fire witnessed the wreckage crash.
On Russia’s NTV channel, Koltovoy hosted the ‘DNK’ (DNA) and ‘Zvezdi Soshlis’ (Stars Aligned) talk shows.
The Ministry of Emergencies’ press service reported that two people were killed as a result of the air crash.
An emergency landing near Novoryazansky highway near Tomilino village was carried out by a private aircraft.
The single-engine plane crash was confirmed by Elena Markovskaya, of the Moscow Transport Directorate of the Russian Investigation Committee.
In a statement, NTV reported: “Unfortunately, the knowledge that Alexander Koltovoy and his wife were on board the crashed aircraft was confirmed in the Moscow area.”
“Lera Kudryavtseva, co-host of Koltovy, said:” He very much liked flying.
“Nearly every weekend he traveled.”
Podyem’s telegram channel was told by fellow presenter Yulia Sivertsova: “We’re surprised. I know nothing, (but) everyone has already reported it.”
Koltovoy was famous for a talk show where participants used a genetic test to solve family dramas.
