President Buhari has named Effiong Okon Akwa as the Niger Delta Development Commission’s Interim Administrator (NDDC).
Mr Akwa was the Acting Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the NDDC under Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei’s Interim Management Committee until his new appointment (IMC).
According to a statement released on Saturday 12 December by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Akwa will oversee the Commission’s affairs from now on until the conclusion of the interventionist agency’s ongoing forensic audit.
The nomination of an interim administrator to oversee the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This is Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa of Ag. The Commission’s Executive Director of Finance and Administration, who will assume leadership before the end of the forensic audit.
Mr Akwa is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Institute and a Solicitor of the Nigerian Supreme Court.
As a result of a plethora of litigation and a restraining order recently issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja against the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC, the development was appropriate.
