The four land boundaries which are to be reopened include Seme, Illela, Maigatari and Mfun, according to a tweet posted on the President’s official Twitter handles.

Since August 2019, the borders have been closed. According to the Federal government, the borders were closed so as to curb illicit importation of narcotics, small arms and agricultural products into the country from neighboring West African nations.
