President-elect, Joe Biden names his new Chief of Staff for the incoming administration

Despite the legal challenges of US President Donald Trump to the electoral outcome and reluctance to accept, projected US President-elect, Joe Biden has named Ron Klain to be his incoming chief of staff as a long-time friend and aide.

The Biden transition office announcing the news, said Klain is one of Biden’s most trusted campaign advisers and was long seen as the most likely choice for the position.

During the Clinton administration, Klain previously served as chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore and during his time as President Barack Obama’s vice president, Biden.

“Over the many years that we have worked together, Ron has been invaluable to me, even when we saved the American economy from one of the worst downturns in our history in 2009 and later overcame a daunting public health emergency in 2014,” Biden said in a statement.


“His profound, varied experience and willingness to work with people across the political spectrum is exactly what I need in a chief of staff in the White House as we tackle this moment of crisis and bring our nation together again.”

In his own speech, Klain praised Biden, calling his new job “the honor of a lifetime.”
“I look forward to helping him and the Vice President-elect put together a talented and diverse team to work in the White House as we discuss their ambitious reform agenda and try to heal the tensions in our country.”

Klain also tweeted, “Tonight on this website, I have seen so many kind wishes. Thank you and I’m sorry I can’t answer to each of you. I’m honoured by the confidence of the President-elect and will give my all to lead a talented and diverse team in a Biden-Harris WH.”

In 1987, Klain graduated from Harvard Law School and was the editor of the Review of Harvard Law. He would later serve as Supreme Court Justice Byron R. White’s law clerk. By then-Sen, Klain was named. From 1989 to 1992, Biden served as the Chief Prosecutor of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
