American rapper Boosie Badazz is suing Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg after his Instagram account was shut down in August for uploading racy material.
The 38-year-old rapper said during a recent sit-down with VladTV that he was suing the tech guru for $20 million. He says the decision of the website to deactivate his account has taken a heavy toll on his business projects.
Boosie believes that because of his race he was punished, pointing out that there are many individuals who have been suspended from Instagram or for posting ‘derogatory material,’ but those accounts have been reported.
He said, “[Zuckerberg] made some of my business ventures go down, so I’m suing him now I’m filing a lawsuit against him now,” Boosie said, “He stopped me off Instagram and he didn’t put me back on Instagram. And that’s affecting my business,” adding that other people who have done worse were allowed back on.
“This is the first time my Instagram has ever been taken from me. “So you can give other 2 million people their Instagram back for derogatory things they did? And I posted a girl with an emoji’s over her. This is discrimination. Something is wrong. Somebody must be mad ’cause I said their name wrong and they’re trying to chastise me.”
“And my Black people are starting to tell me, ‘Boosie, this man is a racist. He knows you affect the Black community and make them smile every morning. Why is he not giving you your page back when gives all these people their page back. He might be trying to stop us from smiling’ … You’re going too far. I had ten million followers. You’re f*cking up my income … you’re showing discrimination.”
Boosie is asking for $20 million, which he says was his missed revenue from the loss of his page.
