Rapper, Kodak Black’s sexual harassment lawsuit remains pending, amid Trump’s pardon

After being pardoned by former President Donald Trump in his federal gun-related accusations, American rapper Kodak Black is supposed to be out of federal jail, but prosecutors in South Carolina are currently going after him in a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Recall, the 23-year-old Florida rapper was arrested in 2016 in South Carolina on a first-degree criminal sexual activity felony charge.

Ed Clements, the 12th Circuit Attorney in Florence County, told TMZ that even though COVID-19 has interrupted Kodak’s case and other court hearings, prosecutors will be “aggressively” seeking Black’s plea bargain or trial.

South Carolina prosecutors say that after a concert in 2016, Kodak, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, forced himself upon an 18-year-old woman.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the victim alleged Black bit her throat, breast and raped her.

Beattie Ashmore, Kodak’s attorney in South Carolina, replied in a statement:’ Vigorously prosecuting? Four years have gone by. The volumes talks. Before his federal case even started, Kodak was on bond and on tour for two years. Ed is a very fair and knowledgeable lawyer, and I look forward to talking about this case with him once again. It’s been a while already.’

If convicted, Kodak faces up to 30 years in state prison.
