A Repentant Boko Haram gave out information on the movement of soldiers in Damboa – Senator Ali Ndume claims

Senator Ali Ndume alleged that a repentant terrorist from Boko Haram had provided details about the Army’s movement to representatives of Boko Haram who had recently carried out an attack in Damboa.

Ndume, who is the chairman of the Nigerian Army Senate Committee, made the accusation before the committee today, 11 November, during the budget defense of the military.

Ndume took the opportunity to again criticize the de-radicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration program coordinated by the Nigerian Army’s Operation Safe Corridor.

On the topic of deradicalizing and reintegrating, I disagree with the government. My role still remains the same. The role of the executive is distinct, but I still retain that position. You can’t resettle and pamper people when the war isn’t over.

The committee is on the same page, and I think so many Nigerians are with us on the same page.

Seventy-five Mallams, Muslims over 60, were taken to an abbatoir in my own village and slaughtered by Boko Haram. Can you imagine that the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian government are saying that you are getting them back and pampering them because these people have gone to repent.

The latest attack in Damboa was carried out by a repentant information provider about the Army’s movement,’ he said.
